About

How much do you know about the medical school interview process, assessment criteria, answering strategies and techniques? Mind goes blank when you’ve been put on the spot? Can’t find the right words or just not sure how to phrase that perfect interview answer? 

We’re here to boost your confidence, knowledge, help you practice within a controlled environment, and help you aim for the top in your upcoming interviews. Join our UK doctors and surgeons for a jam-packed day uncovering unique tips and tricks, strategies, and practice scenarios with tailored feedback to help you ace your upcoming medical school interviews.

in a nutshell

This one-day, intensive course follows a spiral, interactive and engaging curriculum from the beginning to the end of the day. We will combine key theory elements with hands-on real-life practical scenarios.

 

We will discuss do’s and don’ts, top tips and tricks, strategies on how to answer to end up within the top 10% of applicants, as well as boosting your confidence of presenting and public speaking.

 

Each of our main sessions is followed by a short Q&A session with our doctors and surgeons to ensure we clear your mind of any questions and uncertainties you may have.

What makes this course special

As with all of our courses and activities, we strive for QUALITY over quantity. Our events are performed in small groups with a maximum capacity of 10 to 15 participants per session. This ensures attendee participation and the ability to focus on maximising your strengths and building on your weaknesses. Tips, tricks, and strategies have been based on years of experience and the successful tutoring of over 4,000 successful medical students. 

 

This intensive one-day course is an opportunity to experience the world-class teaching delivered by our doctors and surgeons as part of the world-renowned Medefine Education Global Academy selecting, incubating a total of only 50 Medical students from all over the world on a yearly basis.

who is delivering this course?

Live online across two London hospitals, this one-day event will be delivered by the award-winning UK doctors Dr Bogdan and Dr Navin, authors of the international best-selling book ‘The Unofficial Guide to Getting Into Medical School’.

Dr. bogdan chiva Giurca
BMBS, clin. Ent fellow, MBA healthcare

Dr Bogdan is not only a London based doctor, but also author of the international best-selling book ‘The Unofficial Guide to Getting into Medical School’ (hyperlink). Professionally and outside medical school mentoring, Dr Bogdan is a world-renowned healthcare leader with research and work impacting on national and international healthcare policy. His work has been recognised through over 50 national and international prizes and awards, including three community impact awards and being invited to meet His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales on three occasions. He has worked with several high-profile clinicians, scientists, Harvard academics, National Healthcare System leaders, and has had an impact on healthcare policy making on a global scale.

Dr. Bogdan has sat on several interview panels and has tutored over 3,000 applicants who have successfully obtained a place at medical school in the UK. He is currently working as a Paediatrics Doctor in London (South Thames), a Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow, and a Collaborator at the Harvard Global Health Institute.

Dr. Navin Nagesh
BSc, BMBS, FRSPH

Dr Navin M Nagesh is the Co-Founder of Medefine Education and an academic doctor working in central London. He has been deeply involved in medical education for over 5 years and has contributed to innovation in teaching curricula at both school and undergraduate stages nationally. He has mentored thousands of medical school applicants to pursue their dream of becoming a doctor. These accolades have been recognised by Royal Colleges and he became a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. 

 

As an academic doctor he has published 20 journal articles and has presented his research the US, Europe and Asia. His primary interest is in cancer research and he is currently working at the world famous Barts Cancer Institute where he is the sub-investigator on 8 clinical trials. He is currently a Global Clinical Research Scholar at Harvard Medical School and hopes to become a leader in clinical research to innovate and transform patient care pathways.

Part 1

Theory and Core Principles 

  • Most common topics and frequently encountered themes

  • Strategies and techniques for answering

  • Top tips, tricks, and hacks to ace the medical school interview

Part 2

Duration 1.5 h

Mock Interviews and Practice

  • Students will be divided into breakout rooms

  • A doctor will be assigned per each group of students

  • Students will take part in interactive multiple mini interviews

  • Students will apply the theory principles learned in Part 1

Part 3

Duration 30 min

Feedback 

  • Personalised feedback will be provided to students on an individual basis

  • Feedback will be provided longitudinally for the duration of the Interview Masterclass Workshop

Part 4

Duration 30 min

 Q&A with UK Doctors and Surgeons 

  • Question and Answer session hosted by UK doctors and surgeons who have been part of several admission panels previously

  • Opportunity to clarify your questions whilst getting top tips from our experts

+ Certificate upon event completion signed by UK doctors

Note: Mock interview questions and scenarios will take place throughout the day. Don’t worry if you’re shy, we’ll be there to support your development, take you step by step and enable you to boost your strengths whilst building on your weaknesses.
